Bout of Books Update: Day 7

Bout of Books

The Bout of Books Read-a-thon has come to an end. Overall, I'm very happy with my progress for this read-a-thon. I came really close to finishing a second book last night. But I just couldn't keep my eyes open any longer.
I hope to have reviews up for Winters Heat and Hopeless soon. I should also finish The 5th Wave this week and be able to put up a review for it.  I'd definitely recommend any of these books to anyone who likes these sort of books. They were all very good.

Bout of Books Read-a-thon Update Days 5 & 6

Bout of Books

Saturday my husband and I took my son and a friend to watch the Arkansas Razorback Men's Basketball team play in Fayetteville. So I was away from the house all day and did not get to post an update for Friday. So it is included here.

The good thing is that the trip is 2 hours each way and I wasn't driving. So I read for 4 hours. I read Hopeless by Colleen Hoover. OMG!! I'm in love with her writing and can't believe it's taken me this long to read one of her books. I may binge on her books this year.

Bout of Books

My son had a basketball game tonight. So there were a few hours that I wasn't able to read. I also didn't read at lunch today and went to bed earlier than I have been lately. But I'm surprised at the number of pages I was able to read today. I should be able to finish Winters Heat tomorrow.

Bout of Books Challenge #2

Bout of Books

Today's Bout of Books Challenge is a Rainbow Challenge and is being hosted by Ranty Run of a Reader. Rebecca has given us the choice of creating either a cover challenge or doing an author challenge. We can either create a rainbow using book covers (either physical or virtual) or create a "rainbow" by finding an author whose last name starts with the same letter of one of the colors of the rainbow. I've decided I want to do both except I'm too lazy to go find the books and take a picture of them. It was a long day at work and I'm tired. So I will create a virtual rainbow.

COVER RAINBOW

Mindsiege (Mindspeak, #2) Chosen (The Chosen, #1) Lulu's Cafe Lichgates (The Grimoire Saga, #1)
Storm in a B Cup - A Breast Cancer Tale No One to Trust (Red Stone Security, #1)  Reckless (Renegades, #1)

AUTHOR RAINBOW

R - Reichs, Kathy
O - Owens, C.M.
Y - Young, Lani Wendt
G - Gabaldon, Diana
B - Brown, Tara
I - Isbell, Megan Nugen
V - Voight, Ginger

So it turns out I've read (according to my Goodreads) each of the above authors but Voight.

Happy Reading!

Bout of Books Challenge #1

Bout of Books

Lori over at Writing My Own Fairy Tale is today's challenge host and she's having a game of Would You Rather. Typically, this wouldn't be a game I'd play. But Lori's questions seem easy to answer (for the most part).

Writing My Own Fairy Tale

Here are my answers.

Would you rather:
Lend books to someone who dog-ears pages or to someone who reads with cheesy Cheetos fingers?
My Answer: Lend books to someone who dog-ears pages. For one, this doesn't really bother me too much. Secondly, Cheetos would just leave the pages filthy. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy a good handful of Cheetos. But not while reading.

Would you rather:
Be able to meet one character of your choice or meet one author of your choice?
My Answer: Meeting an author would make me nervous. So I'm going to have to go with meeting one of my favorite characters.

Would you rather:
Never be allowed in a book store again or never be allowed in a library again?
My Answer: Never be allowed in a library again. I could always have someone else go to the library for me.

Would you rather:
Have to choose one of your favorite characters to die in their book or have to pick one of your favorite couples to break up in their book?
My Answer: This is the hardest one for me to answer. But I'm going to go with one of my favorite characters dying. I don't know that I could handle my favorite couple breaking up.

Would you rather:
Be required to read Twilight once a year for the rest of your life or The Scarlet Letter once a year for the rest of your life?
My Answer: Twilight. I love the series. While The Scarlet Letter isn't all that bad, I'd much rather read something modern.

Want to join in? Go to Bout of Books before the end of Tuesday night and sign up.
