The Friday 56 Week #4

The Friday 56 is a meme hosted by Freda at Freda's Voice.

Rules:
*Grab a book, any book.
*Turn to page 56 or 56% in your eReader
(If you have to improvise, that's ok.)
*Find any sentence, (or few, just don't spoil it)
*Post it.
*It's that simple.

Written in My Own Heart's Blood (Outlander, #8)My post this week is from the latest book in the Outlander series -

  1. I keep hearing good things about this series. Still on the fence whether it's for me though.

    1. It's definitely not for everyone. To tell you the truth what I like best about these books is not the romance/sex scenes (although those are nice). Rather I like reading about how these people survived before electricity, grocery stores, doctors & hospitals, and powered vehicles.
The characters are so strong and loyal to one another as well as interesting that they just pull you in and keep you wanting more.

    1. This is from book 8 in the series. This series is definitely not for the faint of heart. This book alone has 825 pages. Plus unless you're just starting the series, you'll have a good wait until the next book. The books are full of actual historical knowledge that Ms. Gabaldon researches for months before writing the books.

  3. Oh how I need to finally read the Outlander books. I feel like the worst bookworm ever.

    Happy weekend!

    1. Oh, I wouldn't worry about it. There's too many books to read out there to stress over not reading a series. You can live vicariously through those of us that have read it.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  4. I listened to the first on audio and I liked the production, but I thought it could have been shorter. I'd like to continue it eventually. Thanks for sharing!
